Currently + One Week

{Loving} The beautiful orchid Jason got me. It's the biggest, brightest flower I've ever seen. I'm so lucky to be married to my best friend.

{Reading} I've spent more time reading blogs than anything else. I have a plan to read all of the Twilight Saga before the next movie comes out in November.

{Watching} The Olympics, mainly for swimming and gymnastics. Although it surprised me how much I got into the weight lifting "clean and jerk".

{Thinking about} What it is going to be like to go back to school. I'm really excited, but also nervous. I'm proud of myself for doing it though :)

{Anticipating} Our NYC trip launches off in exactly one week from today!

{Listening to} I'm still listening to Of Monsters and Men, but it's definitely time for a new album. I'm searching for that perfect one to listen to on the plane. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. I think Joseph Gorden-Levitt is the bee's knees. This video he did with She & Him is amazing, and this song has been stuck in my head all morning.

{Working on} Getting everything done before our trip. As soon as we fly back we are going out to California to celebrate my dad's birthday. When we get back from that school is starting. We are taking this week to arrange everything. One thing to check off the list was the DMV, and now my Driver's License has my new married last name, George. It makes me so happy to see that.

{Wishing} I tried on the perfect peter pan collared shirt yesterday at Forever 21, and I'm hoping it's still there tonight. I'm weird when buying something. I need to know for sure that I love it before I get it. I took a night to sleep on it, and I know it's perfect.

If you have a "Currently" post let me know in the comments. I'd love to read it :)

Senses + Inscriptions

{Sight} The Opening Ceremony for the XXX Olympics in London was amazing! We spent the Friday night in watching all four hours of it. I was so impressed, and I never thought so many things that I love would all be in the same performance. I heard The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd, and a live performance from none other than Sir Paul McCartney (I still can't believe we saw him in concert two years ago). The Queen and 007 jumped out of an airplane, Voldemort made an appearance, and a bunch of Mary Poppins' came in to save the day. I loved that J.K. Rowling spoke, there was a quote or two from Shakespeare, and they went all the way back to the Industrial Revolution.

{Scent} I love this Jergens lotion. All good ingredients in here :) It's Pomegranate and Grapeseed oil.

{Sound} I actually laughed out loud when Matt LeBlanc said "Go * yourself". So funny!

{Taste} It's time for peaches, and I'm psyched about it. I love getting fruit that's in season.

{Touch} I love looking through my little "library" (bookcase), and seeing old books that I want to revisit. I saw these two inscriptions from my brother. I should explain about the name. I was born Megan, but I go by my middle name Naomi. These books are so special to me, and will go with me no matter where I go.

{XXX Olympics}

On our Honeymoon in December 2011, we took the Chunnel to and from France. When we were leaving London we saw they symbol of the Olympics. I love the Olympics! I was so impressed with the Opening Ceremony last night. This morning we have been watching a Fencing portion, some Soccer (the real Football), and Badminton. I'm really excited for the Swimming.

I was a very athletic kid. It wasn't too long after I could walk that I could do cartwheels up and down the sidewalk. I did gymnastics until I moved to Arizona. When I moved I played a lot of team sports. I was on a Scottsdale Aquatic Swim Team for four years, and then I was on my high school swim team. I played Volleyball, Basketball, and was very involved in Lacrosse. Some girls from the swim team and I started the Lacrosse team at my school. My older sister played Lacrosse in Maryland, so she became the coach. Watching these games brings back memories of hard work, dedication, and what it's like to be a part of a team. I think it's really important for kids to be on a team, because it teaches them to make exercise a part of their life, to work with other people, and that it's important to stick with something. There were many times I wanted to quit, but my mom wouldn't let me. I am so grateful for this.

What did you think about the opening ceremony? Do you have an event you are excited to watch?

Happy Things + A Countdown

1 2 3 4 5

These are just a few things that have made me smile this week. In hopes to discover something new about myself, I wrote down all the things that make me smile under specific categories. I made a plan to try to surround myself with all the little things that I love, whether it be a pattern, a print of a certain animal, or wearing a peter pan collar. I love expressing myself, and getting to know why I love the things that I do. I did this, because I started to feel like I wasn't as unique anymore. After doing a little soul-searching it turns out there is only one of me and I'm not going to waste the person that I am.

{NYC Countdown: Eleven days}

I hope that everyone has a great weekend. I'm really excited to watch the Opening Ceremony of The Olympics tonight. Are you going to watch it?

Random Topic Tuesday + Penny-Farthing

I love all the dresses from ModCloth. I really hope to get one sometime. If I could get any dress from there right now it would be this "Coach Tour Dress in Azur".

I know that it's the middle of summer, but I honestly can't wait for autumn/winter to come so I can start wearing fun coats again. I especially fancy this one "In Love and Beyond Coat" also from ModCloth.

I don't know why, but I love now knowing how to tie a real bow tie! I think they are way cooler than regular ties.

This is a Rolleiflex baby model from 1931. It would be so cool to own and play around with one of these. I love old cameras!

All the talk about R2D2 yesterday made me look up a cute version of him found on Pinterest.

I want to be invited to a party where you asked to wear these masquerade masks. That would be so much fun.

I couldn't decide whether or not I like the one you hold. They are neat, but it would be hard to dance and hold it up all the time. Just a thought.

Penny-farthing! I love this brooch. Blue & red are my favorite color combination, especially when there is more blue and a pop of red.

I'm pretty sure I need this pillow. It's so cute, and I love the color!

♥ Those are just a few random thoughts streaming through my head. Do you have a random topic you would like to share? Randomness can spawn great inspiration & creativity! Happy Tuesday :)

Senses + Weekend Photos

{Sight} We saw The Dark Knight Rises on Friday night. I wasn't going into it with high expectations because I didn't think any villan could be as good as the Joker. We were so impressed with The Dark Knight we saw it in theaters at least four or five times. Not to mention we named our puppy after him. I was absolutely blown away by the movie! Honestly, I can't wait to see it again. If there is anyone that is on the fence about it: see it :)

{Scent} Victoria Secret Angel always reminds me of our honeymoon. I wore this everyday and every time I put it on it reminds me of Versailles, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower... and all the other amazing things we saw on that adventure. I love when there is a specific scent that is dedicated to a certain time or experience. I'm the same way with music as well. I usually bring a new album with me when going on a new adventure so it will symbolize that moment.

{Sound} Jose Gonzalez "Heartbeats". It seemed like every year of high school I had a different group of friends. My senior year I spent time with people that really helped me grow as an individual. We used to talk about how things made us feel infinite. Well, while Jason and I were getting our daily coffee and playing cards, this song came on. It filled the coffee shop and a sense of relaxation came over everyone. For me, it made me feel infinite.

{Taste} This is what I put in my morning latte. I love Truvia, and a little goes a long way! It's delicious and so much better for you than sugar.

{Touch} I really love Ashtanga Yoga. I love all yoga, but this one I'm particularly into. Sometimes I just do a couple moves here and there, and it's been fun making up my own structured sequence.

{Weekend Photographs}

This is Farrah, named after Farrah Fawcett. She's not supposed to be on the couch, but how am I supposed to say "no" to this face? She's the cutest.

Saw this and thought it was fitting. I'm in a Batman phase, and I'm thinking next weekend is dedicated to watching the first two movies from The Dark Knight Trilogy, and then seeing the new one again. I know some people aren't like this, but when I am into something I can watch, listen to, or read the same thing over and over again.

One day I have to own this! This brings back great memories of watching this show with my dad. It was so funny, and I'm sure I will still get a kick out of it. I'm still a kid at heart.

My friend Brian and his girlfriend stayed with us this weekend. Going to Zia Records is one of the first things we did. I'm always looking for those last few Beatles records to complete our collection. We had a lot of fun with them. We watched The Sandlot, Independence Day, and played a ton of games, including: Jumanji, Urban Myth, Spoons, and a bunch of other card games.

"Hello."

We went to IKEA just to walk around and meander about. When we turned the corner we thought we spotted R2D2!

We were wrong.

He first sat on it because it looked like a tiny chair. But it turns out that it fit him perfectly. He looks so proper!

I used to have one of these when I was taking a lot of art classes. My mom likes to get rid of things if they aren't being used, and I think this was one of the things that I accidentally left in the closet of my old bedroom. We picked up another one for me at IKEA. I can't wait to start sketching again!

This is the best smelling candle! The scent of an apple is so refreshing. The "warning" pictures on the side of all their candles are so funny. It is smart for them to do that though, because pictures will be the same in every language.

I could not be more thankful for the weather. We spotted a rainbow! We live a couple miles from the Sky Harbor Airport, so we see lots of airplanes from our window, just like that one there.

Farrah and the reflection of the rainbow. Well, maybe the rainbow is actually inside our place ;)

How was your weekend? Do you do anything especially fun or exciting? I'd love to hear about it!

*I had a random thought yesterday, and I think it's pretty obvious what it was. I spent some time reading up on why the day's of the week are called what they are. I found it very interesting. I got all of my information from The Seven-Day Week. Just because I thought it was fitting, here is The Beatles "Eight Days A Week".

Thrifty Discoveries + The Shins

We just got our wedding rings cleaned and they look all sparkly and new. I was smiling for hours after we picked them up. I feel so unbelievably lucky to have such beauty on my finger.

July = monsoon season begins! So my naturally curly hair gets bigger & better than ever! I think the only other person in my family that had curly hair was my grandmother on my dad's side. I used to hate it when I was younger, but now I love it.

Jason picked these up the other day and we gave it a go. We love cards, games, and Angry Birds! This was fun, but if you play it beware: your pointer finger gets sore from all the flicking!

I'm lovin' these anchor earrings from Old Navy! Speaking of thrifty behavior: outlets are the way to go.

With my love.

So, there is an order to things as far as Nordstrom goes. Most expensive = Nordstrom. Sale = Nordstrom's The Rack. Greatest deals of all = Last Chance! I had mentioned in the previous post how much I wanted a pair of Tory Burch flats. Well, to my surprise they had these beauties in my size! Prices at Last Chance are over 75% off the original price!

I found these underneath a bench at Last Chance! I swear, my heart ceased to beat for a moment, because once again, they were in my size :) I'm so happy because now I have them to take on our trip to NYC next month! Once again, over 75% off! Ah!

.:. This drink can make any day better .:.

I got these heart-shaped sunnies at The Grove while we were in LA.

I found this Ann Taylor skirt, it had never been worn with tags still attached! I love half price day at Goodwill. It was only $7 :)

Another half priced ticket! A $3 purse to bring along with me on our trip. I needed something with a zipper, and an extra flap.

I love The Shins! I've been listening to them since I was in high school. They came out with a new album this year, but this is the first time I had some time to listen to them. Above is "Simple Song". I can't wait to hear more.

♥ Hope everyone is having a nice week. Any thrifty finds lately? Any thoughts on the new album?
