Self Portrait + 100

This is my 100th post! I fell in love with blogging in May of this year. Lately I've been discussing the idea of success with my friends and family. Jason had a very simple, and insightful thing to say regarding this topic. He explained to me that every individual has their own idea of success. We can create our own definition for that inspirational, yet frightening word. It's exciting to think that you are in control of defining the rubric of life. I'm still trying to discover the central theme for my little corner of the internet, but for the time being I'm living out my definition. Success is loving what you do, and being true to yourself.

My goal for this weekend is to create a self portrait of myself using my brand spankin' new camera! I tend to get nervous in front of the camera. Whether it is noticeable or not, I feel like I'm always in an awkward stance with an even more awkward facial expression. While sifting through blogs to gather ideas I stumbled a very helped post found here on A Beautiful Mess.

Public Bicycles + Social Networking

This beauty can be found here.

So this beauty is my dream bike. They had me at "it's suited for those who wear skirts". I love that Public Bicycles are all European styles. This particular one is a Dutch-Style. Christmas is coming up, and a girl can dream right?

Ah, social media. When I was in middle school to early high school I had a MySpace. At the end of high school to up until earlier this year I had a FaceBook. I've spent the last six months free of social networking, with the exception of my current love of blogging. Lately, while talking to some friends at school, I decided to jump on the Twitter bandwagon. Yes, I am a late bloomer, but better late than never. Today I wrote my first tweet! I sound so old, and I'm probably the last twenty-four year old to be learning about this for the first time. I didn't want to conform, but lately I realize that it's about expressing yourself and connections with others. I'm seeing social networking in a whole new light. If you'd like you can follow me by clicking the button below. Warning: I'm a total nerd, and topics most likely discussed will include coffee, records, and independent films.

Random Topic Tuesday + The Paper Kites

Chaumont-en-Vexin, France

Listening. I've become obsessed with the song "Bloom" by The Paper Kites. Not only is the song beautiful, but the musc video is sweet, and perfectly fitting. This is definitely the next album I will be purchasing. This is a great excuse to go to my favorite music store, Zia Records.

Watching. The past two days I've had a terrible cold. While one of them was spent doing twelve hours of homework, the other was spent watching Dawson's Creek. Some may think this is a lame show, but it's a guilty pleasure of mine.

Sipping. I'm a creature of habit. I get the same vanilla soy latte everywhere I go. On Thanksgiving night, to my despair, Starbucks had closed early. My brother suggested that I make an americano, and I absolutely loved it! Also, Jason and I have been going to Mimi's Cafe for our weekend brunch date, and I've been getting non-fat cappuccinos. My love for coffee has only grown.

Wearing. I'm usually in a cardi, but lately I've traded that in for my Victoria's Secret hoodies. I have two of them with the wings on the back. They are so cute and cozy!

Reminiscing. Almost a year ago Jason and I were on our way to London (and Paris) for our honeymoon. About half of the time we stayed with our wonderful French family, Christelle and her daughter Marion. This morning I was getting ready for school, and there was something about the chilly air coming through the open window, the smell of coffee brewing, and still being in my pajamas while getting ready to start the day that reminded me of their home. That is one of my favorite memories.

Target + Window Shopping

I love this little Christmas tree! The idea of making it look like moss is just too cool.

We don't have a dining room table, which this piece would go great on. Although, for us I think it would go perfect on top of our entertainment center or bookcase.

The one that appears to be looking at the camera is calling out my name!

It is obvious I'm ga-ga over deer this Christmas.

I would probably have this cute little fox out all year round.

I need this for our Christmas decorations! I would be a little nervous it would get messed up while storing it for next Christas though.

At Starbucks, adding this cute little fox mug to my wish list.

Jason in some new clothes we got him.

I'm loving my new shoes!

♥ Have you picked out some new decorations for Christmas yet?

Currently + A Whimsical Christmas Display

Anthropologie has the best winter display I've seen yet!

Loving. The weather could not be more perfect in Arizona. I have waiting so long to wear boots and a peacoat, and it's finally time!

Reading.
My list of books I want to read keep getting longer and longer. One more month left in the semester and I will actually have time to read for pleasure.

Watching.
I hardly ever have time to watch television, but I can't miss The Mindy Project or New Girl. Both of these leading ladies are quirky and hilarious.

Thinking about.
I can't stop thinking about what an amazing weekend I had. We celebrated our one year anniversary of being married. Every day of the weekend we did something special. I am so happy that I get to be married to my best friend.

Anticipating.
The end of the semester can't come soon enough! I'm ready for Winter Break. I love the Christmas season.

Listening to.
Mumford & Sons' Babel has been on repeat for like two weeks straight! I'm obsessed with this album. I am looking for something new that strikes my fancy.

Wishing.
Target has the most amazing Christmas decorations. It's not even Thanksgiving yet, and I'm all excited for Christmas to come.

Making me happy.
Everything. Seriously, life is amazing and every little thing you do can be turned into a mini adventure if you want it to. I'm trying to cling to this positivity.

Thank you to Danielle at Sometimes Sweet for the idea for this post. What are you currently into? ♥

Feeling Infinite + All The Pieces

Jason and I were sitting by a campfire, listening to Tan Vampires, looking up at the stars, and questioning: how does feeling "infinite" happen?

Music. Death Cab for Cutie, Tan Vampires, Band of Horses, Florence + The Machine, and Mumford & Sons.

Lighting. A campfire, stringed lights, tiki torches, or a starry night.

Company. The one you love, a best friend, or a pet.

Drink. Coffee. Enough said.

Clothes. Whatever makes you feel like you are truly representing yourself.

We went to see The Perks of Being a Wallflower last night. It was really special because it has been my favorite book since the first time I read it in high school. Obviously it was not as good as the book, but is the movie ever? Nonetheless I thoroughly enjoyed it.

♥ Have you seen the movie? What did you think?
