High Museum of Art

Our second day in Atlanta, Georgia we went to the High Museum of Art. We were lucky enough to catch the Dream Car Exhibit. I was not allowed to take any photographs of that particular exhibit, so if you are curious you can check them out here. After that we checked out Octane Coffee and talked about all of the beautiful artwork and architecture we had just seen. Honestly, the architecture of High Museum was just as impressive as the work inside. We found out that the architect was Renzo Piano. I would love to learn more about architecture.

Our next city to visit will most likely be Memphis. Do you have any suggestions on museums/coffee/restaurants?

Jackson Street Bridge

Jason, Joker, and I drove to Atlanta, Georgia to spend Memorial Day weekend in a new-to-us city. Our first stop was at the local coffee shop called Condesa, and next was the Jackson Street Bridge. The Walking Dead is one of our favorite shows, so we had to see where Rick Grimes entered the city on horseback.

What did you do over the long weekend?

Audubon Park

We took Joker to Audubon Park in New Orleans, and tried a new local coffee shop called Merchant Coffee. Everything is so green, and fresh. After the park we stopped by a few local bookstores and called it a day. Slowly but surely Louisiana is starting to feel familiar and a place to call home.

What is your favorite park?

For Leona

Today is my niece Leona's very first birthday! I saw this little swim suit that I just had to buy for her. Honestly, buying baby clothes has to be one of the most fun things ever! I cannot believe how fast this year has gone by. So much has happened, so many new memories made.

Do you have a niece or nephew?

Sculpture Garden

We went to the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA), and walked around the Sculpture Garden. It was a beautiful sunny day, and the perfect place to spend the afternoon. This is definitely a place we will revisit.

Have you ever been to a Sculpture Garden?

Chihuly

For Mother's Day, we all got together to go to the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix, Arizona to see the Chihuly exhibit. My mom and I went right before I moved, but this time we got to see it at sunset and at night with all of the glass sculptures lit up. It was a really special day, and I would highly recommend seeing it if you are in the area.

Have you ever seen one of Chihuly's exhibits?
